The Health Systems Trust is a non-government organisation (NGO) that supports the development of an equitable and comprehensive health system that provides quality health care. We have a senior vacancy for Manager: Support Services in the organisation.


The Support Services Manager is responsible for the planning and management of the Support Services (Human Resources and Administrative Management) of the organization to meet the needs of its staff, management and Board of Trustees.

Requirements:

  • University degree or 3 year Technikon diploma in Human Resources (or equivalent)
  • 5-7 years experience in Human Resources and Administrative management
  • 3 years experience at supervisory / management level in a similar position
  • Experience in change and/or diversity management
  • Sound knowledge and experience in Labour Relations and Legislation
  • Experience in salary administration systems
  • Sound knowledge of Performance Management Systems, Job Evaluation/ Grading and Remuneration systems
  • Sound understanding of Organisational Development interventions.

Key Responsibility Areas :

  • Planning, budgeting and financial management of Support Services
  • Administrative systems and procedures management
  • Management of Human Resources systems and procedures
  • Management of section staff and provision of HR support to managers and staff
  • Ensure compliance with relevant labour legislation
  • Ensure that all HST internal policies are updated and in HR Manual and ensure all managers and staff are trained in the use thereof
  • Management of Induction Programme
  • Participation in organisational business planning, progress reviews, internal communication and change management
  • Technical Support to the Board of Trustees, and HST Management Committee.

Proven Competence in the following:

  • Strategic, Operational and Integrated Human Resources Planning
  • Human Resources Management and Development
  • Administrative systems and management
  • Management of Grievance and Disciplinary procedures
  • People Management and Performance Management Systems skills
  • Participative and empowering management style
  • Ability to lead as well as be a team player
  • Ability to work independently in an effective and efficient manner
  • Computer literacy, including payroll systems, spreadsheets, database management, word-processing and internet/e-mail skills.

Location: HST Head Office in Durban

Remuneration: A salary package commensurate with experience and qualifications and in line with the HST's Job grading will be offered to the successful candidate.
